Welcome to Colorado Springs, CO

TownAdvisor TownStory℠ of Colorado Springs, CO

The Platinum Group, Realtors

Situated in the east central portion of Colorado at the base of stunning Pikes Peak and the gorgeous Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs is a haven for those who love to view spectacular outdoor scenery while still living in a sophisticated, lively, urban environment. Called the “Gateway to Southern Colorado’s Outdoor Adventure Playland,” it hosts an array of over fifty attractions, natural (and historic) landmarks, and museums. And it’s affordable, business and family friendly community makes it a great place to live, work, and play.

Native Indian tribes including the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho peoples first lived in this area for thousands of years. It then became part of the territory the United States acquired in the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It began to first get known throughout the U.S. in the 1850’s during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Then, the Civil War hero and railroad magnate General William Jackson Palmer turned the area into a Victorian spa resort town by 1871, calling it Colorado Springs. It soon became (and still is now) a diverse blend of native Indian, European, and Southwestern culture.
